The Comédie-Française maintains a fragile balance between its more than three hundred year old tradition and the most immediate relevance of creation. The new visual identity reflects this quest for dialogue by seeking out what, at its core, is the very identity of the French. The new visual identity has been revitalized and can offer a modern interpretation of old motifs. The Comédie had identified with the stamp used in the 1920s to stamp archives. Other historical documents also inspired us, such as the cockade of the official representations whose power we appreciated. The new logo retains the marking function and the double circle, but gives it greater visual strength.
Powerful, simplified, essential, the "cocarde" represents the troupe, the institution and the performance venues.
