The exhibition "Icons of Modern Art. The Shchukin Collection" at the Fondation Louis Vuitton was the first in the world to be devoted to the art collection assembled by Russian businessman Sergei Shchukin in his Moscow palace. The works came mainly from the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, but also from the Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow and the Costakis Collection in Thessaloniki, among others.
The Foundation was as successful as ever with more than one million visitors, the record for the most visited exhibition in France. Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition, entrusted c-album with the design of the catalog, which led us to also take care of the communication campaign for this unique event with a palatial dimension, as well as to design certain scenographic elements.
For the Shchukin exhibition catalog, we have proposed six different covers, representing works lent by each of the museums, as well as a painting restored by the Foundation. The catalog presents the entire collection on the one hand, but also relates the evolution of art, from Cézanne to Malevitch through Manet, Picasso, Matisse and so many others, as a true lesson in painting.
