As with the Notre-Dame scripture, a survey of the ornaments was carried out on site, as well as at the Heritage Library in Charenton, which houses the preparatory drawings for Viollet-Le-Duc's frescoes.

For the first time since the fire, the Grands Décors exhibition presented the restored Mays and the work of prizewinners Guillaume Bardet and Ionna Vautrin for the liturgical furniture and seating. What better way to give an original visual identity to the decorative arts exhibition than to use the ornamentation? A grid system was put in place, based on the redrawing of the ornaments, to give a very special tone to the atmosphere of the exhibition, both in its communication and in the scenography.
