In order to affirm the presence of the École des Chartes in the 21st century, the replacement of the EDC numeral by a more modern sign seemed necessary to us. We therefore imagined a monogram as three pages, fragments of a whole that we would have to reconstitute.

The eye finds the form, the spirit completes the letter: it is a metaphor of the work of the historian. The only initial "C" is enough to identify the School, the rest is implied. This simplicity makes the graphic modern with a drawing put "in tension" by the circulation of white.
